~GCCI hosted the Finland–Gujarat Networking & Business Connect in Ahmedabad, bringing Finnish business leaders and Gujarat industry together to explore commercial partnerships.
Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Sep 17 (VNI): The Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) hosted the Finland–Gujarat Networking & Business Connect at the Astral Executive Room, GCCI, bringing together Finnish business leaders, government representatives, trade promotion agencies and industry professionals with members of Gujarat’s business community. The programme provided a focused platform for business-to-business engagement, institutional networking and exploration of potential commercial collaboration between Finland and Gujarat.
Delivering the welcome address, Hiten Vasant, Vice President, GCCI, highlighted GCCI’s seven-decade journey since its establishment in 1949 and emphasised the importance of creating platforms that facilitate meaningful international business engagement for Gujarat’s industry. He said Gujarat’s industrial depth, entrepreneurial ecosystem, manufacturing capabilities and scale of business activity, combined with Finland’s strengths in technology, innovation, sustainability and advanced solutions, offer scope for partnerships across sectors.
Apurva Shah, Chairman, International Trade Committee, GCCI, delivered the theme address and highlighted the role of international business platforms in facilitating market access, knowledge exchange and commercial partnerships. An introduction to GCCI and GATE was also made during the programme, followed by an interactive networking session between the Finnish delegation and GCCI members.
According to Prashant Gupta, Secretary General, GCCI, the programme provided an opportunity for businesses and institutions from both sides to explore areas of mutual commercial interest. The Finnish delegation represented a broad cross-section of Finland’s government, trade promotion, technology, manufacturing, circular economy, clean technology, digital solutions, maritime and industrial sectors. It included representatives from Business Finland, Business Lahti, the Embassy of Finland in New Delhi, Embassy of Finland in Vienna, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and the Chemical Industry Federation of Finland.
The occasion was graced by Navroz Tarapore, Secretary, and Himanshu Patel, Secretary (R). GCCI office bearers felicitated Gitta Perez, Commercial Counsellor and Head of Trade and Business Promotion, Embassy of Finland, New Delhi, acknowledging her participation and the Embassy’s engagement with Gujarat’s business community. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dhruvil Patel, Treasurer, GCCI, reaffirming GCCI’s commitment to facilitating international business engagement and connecting Gujarat enterprises with global business ecosystems.
