Mumbai, Oct 18, MCX GOLD futures hits all time high, SILVER futures gains by 1.37%, while COTTONCNDY contract drops by 3.18%.
According to a statement issued by MCX DAILY MARKET Indias leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.36229.57 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 18 October 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 11532.61 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 24691.97 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Oct-24 futures was reached at 19221 point.
Commodity Future Contracts: Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 8246.77 crores. GOLD Dec-24 contract was up by 0.63% to Rs. 77589 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Oct-24 contract was up by 0.88% to Rs. 62250 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Oct-24 contract was up by 0.77% to Rs. 7564 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was up by 0.7% to Rs. 77073 per 10 gram.
SILVER Dec-24 contract was up by 1.37% to Rs. 93001 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was up by 1.32% to Rs. 92824 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was up by 1.32% to Rs. 92824 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2793.84 crores with volume of 3601 lots and OI of 17986 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2537.62 crores with volume of 9105 lots and OI of 28194 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1849.43 crores. COPPER Oct-24 contract was up by 1.09% to Rs. 822.95 per kg and ZINC Oct-24 contract was up by 0.62% to Rs. 283.65 per kg while ALUMINIUM Oct-24 contract was up by 0.74% to Rs. 236.95 per kg and LEAD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.22% to Rs. 183 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1185.45 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 166.99 crores, Lead futures Rs. 38.14 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 299.45 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1431.50 crores. CRUDEOIL Oct-24 contract was up by 0.1% to Rs. 5903 per BBL while NATURALGAS Oct-24 contract was down by 0.3% to Rs. 197 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 713.73 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 545.85 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Oct-24 contract was down by 0.16% to Rs. 912 per kg and COTTONCNDY Nov-24 contract was down by 3.18% to Rs. 55100 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 24691.97 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 582.88 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was down by 0.04% to Rs. 264.10 with volume of 21289 lots & OI of 7787 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was down by 6.45% to Rs. 276.9 with volume of 21177 lots & OI of 5886 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.190 was down by 4.95% to Rs. 10.55 with volume of 5990 lots & OI of 2401 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.200 was up by 2.5% to Rs. 8.2 with volume of 15328 lots & OI of 13710 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.77000 was up by 20.18% to Rs. 1769.00 with volume of 433 lots & OI of 454 lots, while Gold Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.76000 was down by 16.09% to Rs. 769 with volume of 376 lots & OI of 538 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was up by 23.3% to Rs. 3879.50 with volume of 657 lots & OI of 455 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was down by 18.21% to Rs. 1918.5 with volume of 347 lots & OI of 789 lots.
