Ahmedabad, Nov 21, GCCI ( GUJARAT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY) Business Women Committee organized a session on “Beyond Boundaries” – Women Pioneers in Leadership at Ahmedabad, Gujarat today.
According to a press release issued by Joint Secretary General Geeta A. Joshi, Speaking on the occasion, GCCI Senior Vice President Rajeshbhai Gandhi Congratulated for their “Beyond Boundaries” series which is designed to motivate women entrepreneurs to excel in their respective ventures. He took proud note of the presence of Ms. Sumam Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, Indian Hotels Company Limited for this event. He remarked that every human being must strive to excel in every task and it is all the more relevant for business entrepreneurs to go beyond the boundaries. He took proud note of the fact that women entrepreneurs across the globe are now making their presence felt.
GCCI BWC Chairperson Prachi Patwari welcomed the guests and extended warm welcome to the Key Note Speaker of the event Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL). She mentioned that BWC Series “Beyond Boundaries” was meant to motivate women entrepreneurs to excel in their respective fields. She remarked about the highly competitive world and the fact that only the people who constant “Renovate & Innovate” their capabilities will survive and thrive. She thanked the sponsors M/s K. B. In her address to the participants Ms. Suma Venkatesh mentioned that Working at ICHL, part of the Tata Group, has been an enriching experience, where I’ve embraced the challenges of a senior role in hospitality. The driving forces behind my journey have been the valuable insights gained, continuous learning, and the opportunity to make an impact. Family support has been crucial to my success.
A highlight has been working with Mr. Ratan Tata, whose visionary leadership and humility have deeply inspired me. His belief in ‘building hotels for our guests’ encapsulates the essence of hospitality. Through my career, I’ve come to understand the importance of leadership and humanity in the corporate world. My educational journey has been shaped by turning challenges into opportunities. Leading during the COVID-19 era was particularly challenging, but it was also a time of growth, innovation, and adaptability.
