Adalaj, Gujarat, Nov 24, On a splendid Sunday evening, Crraft of Art marked its 15th anniversary with a breathtaking musical journey at the historic Adalaj Ni Vav, Gandhinagar, as part of their prestigious Water Festival.
Birwa Qureshi, the visionary Founder and Artistic Director of Crraft of Art, expressed her gratitude for the convergence of such talent and an appreciative audience. Dedicating the festival to the revival of India’s rich cultural legacy, she added that this festival helps to bring historic landmarks closer to the public through innovative musical expressions. The evening left an indelible mark on all, a perfect blend of art, heritage, and shared musical joy.
The night unfolded as a mesmerizing celebration of sound, with an extraordinary lineup of performers who captivated the audience with their brilliance. Tabla virtuoso Ustad Fazal Qureshi enchanted with his intricate rhythms, while the melodious voice of Sri Vijay Prakash filled the air with emotion. Sarangi master Dilshad Khan’s soulful strings evoked deep resonance, and mridangam expert Sridhar Parthasarathy’s beats set a reverberating foundation. The intricate play of ghatam artist Uma Shankar, along with dholak maestro Navin Sharma and dholki specialist Vijay Chauhan, brought infectious energy to the stage.
Khartal player Khete Khan’s rhythmic precision sparked lively excitement, while the subtle harmonies of keyboardist Sangeet Haldipur and the vibrant percussion of drummer Gino Banks created a powerful fusion of sound. The smooth basslines of Sheldon D’silva, a distinguished composer and session player, added richness, while guitarist Rhythm Shaw’s melodies painted the night with layers of passion and grace.
