Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Dec 19, GUJARAT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY
(GCCI) organized “GCCI Members’ Annual Meet” at Karnavati Club, Ahmedabad today in the august presence of Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendrabhai Patel.
According to GCCI Joint Secretary General Geeta Joshi, The members’ annual meet was graced by Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendrabhai Patel as the Chief Guest and the Guests of Honour of the occasion were Swami Parmatmanand Saraswatiji, President, Sivananand Ashram, Ahmedabad and Savjibhai Dholakia, Founder & Chairman, Hari Krishna Exports Private Limited. Pratibhaben Jain, Mayor of Ahmedabad was also graced the GCCI Members’ Annual Meet.
In his welcome address GCCI President Sandeep Engineer expressed gratitude to Chief Minister and the Government of Gujarat for all their support and encouragement in resolving trade and industry related issues. He also congratulated Chief Minister for the forward-looking new Textile Policy for the state. He also thanked Government for enhancing the power supply limit for industrial units from 100 KV to 150 KV which will greatly benefit MSME units of the state. He congratulated Chief Minister for successful two years of good governance after the assembly election in December 2022. He remarked about GCCI celebrating -75- years since its inception in the year 1949 and admired the vision of founding fathers Sheth Kasturbhai Lalbhai and Sheth  Amrutlal Hargovinddas and acknowledged huge contribution made by all the Past Presidents of GCCI. He thanked Param Pujya Swami Shri Parmatmanand Saraswati and Shri Savjibhai Dholkia for their inspiring presence as Guests of Honour. He remarked about GCCI’s Pan-Gujarat presence with the support of Regional Chambers and affiliated associations.
President GCCI, Shri Sandeep Engineer announced the GATE 2025 – GCCI Annual Trade Expo, themed “Gujarat Vision Global Ambition”. The expo aspires to contribute to Gujarat’s development and align with India’s Vision 2047 of “Viksit Bharat”. During the Annual Meet GATE 2025 logo was unveiled, followed by the screening of its promotional video, symbolizing the spirit and ambition of this transformative initiative.
Guest of Honour Shri Savjibhai Dholakia in his address, he emphasized the importance of making decisions from the heart, rather than the mind, suggesting that such decisions are guided by integrity and compassion, which can never be wrong. He shared that money was never his priority, and it should be viewed as a byproduct of meaningful work, not the ultimate goal. His life journey reflects a focus on social service and the belief that true success comes from contributing to society and helping others. By prioritizing values, purpose and the well-being of others, one can achieve both personal fulfillment and financial success, with social impact at the core. He further emphasized the importance of taking proper care of our health, nurturing our families and contributing to the well-being of society. He shared insights on how to conduct business with joy and positivity.
Guest of Honour Pujya Shri Parmatmanand Saraswati in his address emphasized that change is a vital force for survival in today’s world, where innovation, technological revolutions, artificial intelligence (AI), and data analytics are rapidly reshaping our lives. While acknowledging these rapid advancements, he stressed the need to place greater focus on Dharma, our moral and spiritual foundation, as a guiding force amidst this transformation. Reflecting on human aspirations, he noted that everyone seeks happiness, but true happiness is not determined by how we perceive ourselves, but by what we possess internally—values and a sense of spiritual fulfillment. Despite the growing amenities and a more holistic approach to happiness, psychological problems persist, there is urgent need to make mental wellness an urgent priority. He further highlighted that India’s rise as a Vishwaguru is not just due to its economic growth, but its moral values. He also congratulated the GCCI for celebrating 75 years and encouraged members to read the autobiographies of past presidents to gain valuable insights into their life values, which can serve as important lessons for today’s generation.
GCCI has proudly completed 75 glorious years since its establishment. To commemorate this milestone, a special video and logo were unveiled during the Annual Meet, paying tribute to the esteemed past presidents and highlighting the impactful activities undertaken by GCCI for the growth of industry and trade.
Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, in his address extended his congratulations to the GCCI on completing 75 years of its journey. He recognized the pivotal role of GCCI as a bridge between the Government and the trade and industry sectors. He highlighted the Government’s proactive policies designed to designed trade and industry growth, generate employment, and contribute to the realization of the Prime Minister’s vision of “Viksit Bharat.” Chief Minister also reflected on Gujarat’s situation at the time of its separation from Maharashtra and the transformative impact of strong leadership, which is now evident in the state’s current success. Gujarat has emerged as a major growth engine, with notable advancements in sectors like electricity, water, and the improved quality of life for all, including the underprivileged. The extraordinary development under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has played a crucial role in this progress. At this pivotal moment, the world is closely watching India’s growth, which is a testament to the nation’s forward momentum. The Chief Minister assured that the Gujarat Government will continue to address the challenges faced by industries and trade. He proudly noted that over 100 of the country’s top 500 companies are now operating in Gujarat, and as the state competes on the global stage, it is vital to ensure continued success. He also presented key statistics showcasing Gujarat’s leadership in manufacturing, startups, and MSMEs, expressing his confidence that the GCCI will remain an essential contributor to this growth.
The programme concluded after the vote of thanks proposed by GCCI Treasurer Sudhanshubhai Mehta.
