~Adani Power reported a 28.08% rise in Q1 FY27 continuing operating revenue to Rs. 17,550.43 crore, while PAT increased 47.24% to Rs. 4,866.60 crore.

Ahmedabad, July 22 (VNI): Adani Power Ltd. (APL), part of the Adani portfolio and India’s largest private-sector thermal power generator, Today reported a strong financial performance for the first quarter of FY27, with continuing operating revenue increasing 28.08 percent year-on-year to Rs. 17,550.43 crore from Rs. 13,702.94 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY26.
According to the company’s official release, the growth in revenue was driven by higher electricity demand, increased operating capacity and improved tariff realisation. Continuing EBITDA rose 21.57 percent to Rs. 6,982.75 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs. 5,743.62 crore a year earlier, supported by higher generation volumes and better contribution from power purchase agreement (PPA) tariffs. The company also recognised one-time prior-period revenue of Rs. 1,386.34 crore, mainly due to revisions in historic energy charges under certain PPAs, compared with Rs. 406.21 crore in Q1 FY26.
Fuel costs increased 30.15 percent to Rs. 9,512.70 crore from Rs. 7,309.19 crore, reflecting higher generation volumes and increased landed prices of imported coal. Operating expenses also rose in line with expanded operations and capacity additions. Despite acquisitions and ongoing capital expenditure, finance costs increased by only 5.19 percent to Rs. 901.37 crore, compared with Rs. 856.93 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Profit Before Tax (PBT) from continuing operations rose 29.38 percent to Rs. 4,914.15 crore from Rs. 3,798.10 crore, while reported PBT surged nearly 50 percent to Rs. 6,300.49 crore from Rs. 4,204.31 crore, aided by improved operational profitability and higher one-time prior-period income. During the quarter, APL also recognised Rs. 117.69 crore as its share of profit from associate company Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd. Following these gains, Profit After Tax (PAT) climbed 47.24 percent to Rs. 4,866.60 crore, compared with Rs. 3,305.13 crore in Q1 FY26. As of June 30, 2026, the company’s total debt stood at Rs. 58,381.32 crore, while net debt was Rs. 47,642.80 crore, reflecting its continued focus on conservative capital management while supporting capacity expansion.
