Mumbai, Maharashtra, Jan 21, MCX records turnover of Rs.10142.01 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.55711.91 crores in Options.
According to MCX DAILY MARKET REPORT today, India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.65854.78 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 21 January 2025 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 10142.01 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 55711.91 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Jan-25 futures was reached at 19150 point.
Commodity Future Contracts: Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 6489.20 crores. GOLD Feb-25 contract was up by 0.54% to Rs. 78970 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Jan-25 contract was up by 0.13% to Rs. 63565 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Jan-25 contract was up by 0.2% to Rs. 7835 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.53% to Rs. 78950 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was up by 0.2% to Rs. 91621 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.22% to Rs. 91656 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was up by 0.26% to Rs. 91680 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3022.22 crores with volume of 3816 lots and OI of 17387 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1587.33 crores with volume of 5755 lots and OI of 23881 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1133.57 crores. COPPER Jan-25 contract was down by 0.06% to Rs. 831.35 per kg and ZINC Jan-25 contract was down by 0.81% to Rs. 276.15 per kg while ALUMINIUM Jan-25 contract was down by 0.49% to Rs. 254.95 per kg and LEAD Jan-25 contract was down by 0.65% to Rs. 176.9 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 484.83 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 187.31 crores, Lead futures Rs. 44.83 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 284.30 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2526.91 crores. CRUDEOIL Feb-25 contract was down by 0.98% to Rs. 6548 per BBL while NATURALGAS Jan-25 contract was up by 0.96% to Rs. 335.2 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 538.21 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1607.44 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Jan-25 contract was up by 0.05% to Rs. 925 per kg and COTTONCNDY Jan-25 contract was down by 0.13% to Rs. 53600 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 55711.91 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1024.63 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6700 was down by 19.6% to Rs. 160.00 with volume of 29920 lots & OI of 8941 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6600 was up by 12.35% to Rs. 253.8 with volume of 33216 lots & OI of 5809 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.340 was up by 3.06% to Rs. 10.10 with volume of 27559 lots & OI of 5914 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.330 was down by 19.74% to Rs. 9.35 with volume of 29154 lots & OI of 6424 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.79000 was up by 29.33% to Rs. 533.50 with volume of 2432 lots & OI of 779 lots, while Gold Put Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was down by 42.72% to Rs. 206.5 with volume of 1821 lots & OI of 1110 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was up by 1.34% to Rs. 2650.50 with volume of 584 lots & OI of 757 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was down by 5.36% to Rs. 1949.5 with volume of 462 lots & OI of 819 lots.
