Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Jan 21, The GUJARAT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY (GCCI) International Taskforce convened a meeting with a delegation from the Tyumen Region of Russia today, during their visit to India.

According to the Additional Secretary General Rahul Sheth, The meeting was attended by distinguished guests, including Ms. Olga Ezikeeva, President,  Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tyumen Region; Mr. Nikolay Purtov, General Director, Fund & Investment Agency, Tyumen Region; Mr. Denis Neustroev, General Director, Innovation Agency, Tyumen Region; Mr. Anatolii Valerievich Kartukhin, Director, Investment Policy and State Support for Entrepreneurship, Tyumen Region; Mr. Ilia Nazarenko Viktorovich, President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry,  Kurgan Region; Ms. Zakharycheva Tatiana, Deputy Director and Head of Licensing and Drug Supply, Tyumen Region and Dr. Rohit Balala, Chief Director for Cooperation with Russia and the CIS at VIECELL.

In his welcoming remarks, Shri Rajesh Gandhi, Sr. Vice President, GCCI highlighted the strong trade relations and economic partnerships between India and Russia. He noted the significant growth in trade relations over the years between Gujarat and Russia, emphasizing the potential for enhancing B2B relationships in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, construction, automotive and furnishings. He also acknowledged GCCI’s pivotal role over more than seven decades in fostering trade and industry connections between Gujarat’s entrepreneurs and their international counterparts. Furthermore, he mentioned GCCI’s extensive presence across Gujarat through regional chambers and affiliated associations.

During her presentation, Ms. Olga Ezikeeva President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tyumen Region emphasized the chamber’s role in facilitating trade through the issuance of certificates of origin. She also discussed initiatives aimed at developing a cluster ecosystem for construction and industry to enhance collaboration and streamline the importation of building materials.

Mr. Nikolay Purtov, General Director, Fund & Investment Agency, Tyumen Region presented on the strategic advantages of the Tyumen region’s location for exporting food products, chemicals, gas, plastics, propane and animal feed. He underscored that these industries are essential for strengthening trade relations and promoting economic growth between the Tyumen region and its international partners.

Mr. Denis Neustroev discussed plans for establishing an inter-university campus that would collaborate with foreign universities to enhance education and research initiatives. He noted that this initiative aims to foster innovation and develop a skilled workforce through joint research projects and academic programs.

Mr. Nazarenko Viktorovich focused on enhancing trade relations in mechanical engineering, petrochemicals, food production, and agriculture. He stressed the importance of collaboration in these sectors to drive regional economic development and assist local entrepreneurs in accessing new markets.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Navroz Tarapore, Chairman, GCCI International Taskforce.
