Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Jan 25, GCCI Film & Entertainment Taskforce, along with the support of Events & Exhibition Taskforce and the Digital Marketing-Media & Bulletin Committee, successfully organized an Interactive Session with the makers of Kasoombo, one of the most prominent productions in Gujarati cinema recently at the GCCI premises.
According to GCCI, Additional Secretary General Geeta Joshi today, Sandeep Engineer, President, GCCI extended a warm welcome to all attendees and participants, highlighting the increasing prominence and global recognition of Gujarati cinema. He commended the creators of Kasoombo for their dedication to meaningful storytelling and their excellence in direction, writing, lyrics, music and acting. He emphasized the importance of leveraging digital platforms to expand the reach of Gujarati cinema and underscored the pivotal role of effective branding in the film industry. He encouraged stakeholders to take proactive steps in exploring new opportunities to elevate the profile of Gujarati cinema further.
Aasit Shah, Chairman, Film & Entertainment Taskforce addressed the gathering by emphasizing the significant potential and growing recognition of Gujarati cinema on both national and global stages.He particularly acknowledged the film’s contribution to highlighting the evolving caliber of Gujarati cinema. He urged continued investment in innovative content and advocated for greater collaboration between filmmakers, producers, and digital platforms to drive growth.
Vijaygiri Bava, Film Director of Kasoombo, shared insights from his filmmaking journey, detailing the challenges involved in directing a film. He discussed the complexities of managing infrastructure, navigating budget constraints, and incorporating brands into the storyline without compromising the narrative integrity. Smt. Twinkle Bava, Film Producer of Kasoombo, praised GCCI for its recognition of the film industry and emphasized the growing prominence of Gujarati films on OTT platforms, particularly in the post-COVID era. She encouraged filmmakers to focus on creating meaningful content rather than merely seeking government subsidies.
Shraddha Dangar, Film Actress, spoke passionately about the importance of promoting Gujarati culture through cinema. She expressed pride in being part of an industry that reflects Gujarat’s rich traditions, values, and storytelling heritage. She highlighted that Gujarati cinema has a unique ability to showcase the state’s vibrant culture, language, and customs, helping preserve and spread its essence globally.
Raunaq Kamdar, Film Actor, emphasized the crucial role actors play in bringing a filmmaker’s vision to life, enhancing the narrative, and adding emotional depth.
The session was moderated by Shri Abhishek Jain, Film Director as well the Co-chairman, Film & Entertainment Taskforce.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Pradip Jain, Chairman, Digital Marketing, Media & Bulletin Committee.
