~Adani Ports Mundra handles a record 105 MMT cargo in the first half of FY 2026-27, while CT3 sets a new national monthly container throughput record.

Mundra, Gujarat, Oct 03 (VNI): Adani Ports Mundra, operated by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), has achieved a new milestone by handling 105 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT) of cargo during the first half of FY 2026-27, reinforcing its position as India’s largest commercial port and a major gateway for global trade.
According to APSEZ, Mundra Port has also set a new national benchmark in container handling. In September 2026, Container Terminal 3 (CT3) handled a record 309,955 TEUs, surpassing its previous national record of 307,329 TEUs achieved in August 2026. The record achieved within a month highlights the port’s operational capabilities, technology adoption and integrated planning.
Mundra Port has emerged as a major container gateway for Northern India, serving importers and exporters across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. Its extensive rail and road connectivity supports the movement of cargo between the port and major industrial and consumption centres, enabling efficient logistics for domestic and international trade.
Beyond container operations, Mundra Port handles a diverse range of cargo, including coal, crude oil, LNG, fertilisers, agricultural commodities, automobiles, steel and project cargo. Its deep-draft infrastructure, modern terminals and integrated logistics ecosystem support a wide range of industries and strengthen its role in India’s supply chain network.
The achievement of handling 105 MMT of cargo in the first half of the fiscal year comes amid the continued expansion of India’s trade, manufacturing and export sectors.
