Ahmedabad, Nov 18, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah will inaugurate AIPSC at Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Gandhinagar, Gujarat on November 19.
RESEARCH & CORRECTIONAL ADMINISTRATION (R&CA) Director,IPS, Ms. Rekha Lohani said today, In celebration of five decades of its commitment towards advancing Indian policing, the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D) in collaboration with Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) are honoured to present the 50th Golden Jubilee All India Police Science Congress (AIPSC) at Rashtriya Raksha University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat on November 19 and 20,. The Conference shall be inaugurated by the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, the Chief Guest who will be accompanied by the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel as a Special Guest.
As part of the Amrit Kaal vision for a developed India by 2047, the AIPSC aims to position Indian Law Enforcement Agencies as frontrunners on the path to excellence. Guided by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, the conference will explore how advanced technology, community engagement, and continuous developments in the legal landscape can establish a police force that reflects the values of service, professionalism, and integrity. The conference envisions a future where Indian policing not only meets the challenges of today but also leads with foresight and innovation into the evolving global landscape.
All India Police Science Congress is a premier annual conference, conceptualized in the 1960s and first held in Patna based on the recommendations of a 1958 Conference of State Inspector Generals of Police. Since then, AIPSC has been a significant platform for driving collaborative policing strategies, fostering interdepartmental and interdisciplinary dialogue, for deliberating the present and the future of Policing in India. This year’s Golden Jubilee Congress is a milestone event, featuring various expert panels dwelling upon the future of Indian policing, global best practices, and technology-led reforms.

Maj Gen Deepak Mehra, Kirti Chakra, AVSM, VSM (Retd.), Director-SISSP, RRU said, For the first time, Rashtriya Raksha University, an Institution of National Importance, devoted to security and law enforcement, will host the AIPSC along with BPR&D. Along with the conference, a Police Science Exhibition is being organised wherein, the industries from across India shall showcase the latest technological solutions for policing and security needs. The aim of the exhibition is to bring academicians, researchers, industry and practitioners under common umbrella and gain from each other’s strengths to find practical solutions to common challenges.

The annual All India Police Science Congress (AIPSC) is a premier platform for deliberation and knowledge exchange, bringing together almost 250 participants from central and state police forces, prisons & correctional services, social scientists, forensic experts, academicians and other stakeholders, to address evolving security challenges. At the end of the Conference, certain Resolutions are adopted by all for implementation by respective States/UTs, CAPFs and CPOs.
The conference will be concluded by a Valediction Function on the Second Day which shall have Shri Praveen Sood, IPS, Director, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as the Chief Guest and Ms S. Sundari Nanda, IPS, Special Secretary, Internal Security as the Special Guest.
