Ahmedabad, Gujarat, May 28, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University ( BAOU) proudly joined hands with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) in the successful conduct of the nationwide youth pledge event titled “Yuva Shakti, Bharat Ki Shakti – One Youth, One Nation, One Resolve” today.
On this occasion the vice chancellor of the University, Dr. Ami Upadhyay said that “We are proud to stand with AIU in shaping our nation’s youth as the conscience-keepers of Bharat. Today we are not only representing Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar University but the entire western region. We all are with our beloved prime minister Shri Modi in the making of New India. As Gujaratis we have sent two of the lions to the centre and today their roar is heard in the entire world in form of Operation Sindoor. I urge each one of the youths to take this pledge not only from their mouth but from their entire being. Today,
India has shown that it is not only strong in defending its sovereignty but also strong in the economic front by becoming the fourth largest economy in the world.”
Held simultaneously across five regions of India, this initiative brought together students in a moment of shared patriotic commitment, civic unity, and national pride. At Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, nearly 1000 students gathered to take the National Youth Pledge, inspired by the ideals of Atmanirbhar Bharat, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, and the inclusive vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
From the western corner of Bharat, the students from various centres located across the state, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University joined the national moment of unity by participating in the “Yuva Shakti, Bharat Ki Shakti” pledge. More than a ceremonial act, this gathering was it was a heartfelt declaration that the youth of western region stand in full resolve with the rest of the nation. Through this collective voice, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University affirmed that patriotism knows no borders, and that every region, every campus, and every student is an equal stakeholder in the making of a united, self-reliant, and inclusive Bharat.
The pledge was led by Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Ami Upadhyay and was preceded by a cultural invocation and address from the mayor of Ahmedabad, Pratibha Jain.

Pratibha Jain said that, “I would like to congratulate the Vice Chancellor of the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, Dr. Ami Upadhyay and her team for getting chosen amongst the five universities across the country. After the inhuman attack of Pahalgam, 140 crore people are with the Indian Armed forces on Operation Sindoor. Our prime minister Shri Narendra Modi has laid the foundation of Vikasit Bharat by the year 2047. We all should work with the same aim and be more reliant on local products.”
This event was a living and pronounced message of inclusivity, unity in diversity, and youth empowerment, echoing the call for a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
