BAPS to Host Grand 92nd Birthday Celebrations of HH Mahant Swami Maharaj in Vadodara on 2 February

~Guinness World Records to confer Certificates of Recognition on Mahant Swami Maharaj
~Preparations underway at the 350-acre festival venue with the dedicated efforts of nearly 14,000 volunteers
Vadodara, Gujarat, Jan 28, On 2 February 2026, from 5 pm to 8pm, the 92nd birth anniversary celebrations of HH Mahant Swami Maharaj, the present spiritual head of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, will be held with great splendour in Vadodara, at the APMC Market area near National Highway No. 48.
BAPS sources said today, As the spiritual successor of Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj, Mahant Swami Maharaj continues to guide the vast global activities of BAPS. Under his leadership, the spiritual values of Sanatan Vedic Dharma are being nurtured across more than 1,800 mandirs worldwide. From the Swaminarayan Akshardham in Robbinsville, New Jersey—the largest Hindu mandir in the Western Hemisphere—to the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, the Middle East’s first traditional Hindu mandir, these monumental projects stand as enduring symbols of Sanatan tradition flourishing on a global scale.
Guinness World Records to Confer Certificates of Recognition: During the programme, officials from Guinness World Records, travelling from England, will present certificates of recognition to Mahant Swami Maharaj.
Recognition 1: Recitation of Sanskrit Shlokas by Over 15,000 Children
Inspired by Mahant Swami Maharaj, more than 15,000 children of BAPS have completed the full Sanskrit recitation of the Satsang Diksha shastra. Composed by Mahant Swami Maharaj and comprising 315 shlokas, the Satsang Diksha offers profound guidance for an elevated and disciplined way of life.
Recognition 2: Record for the Construction of the Highest Number of Hindu Mandirs Worldwide
By 2016, Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj had overseen the construction of 1,200 Hindu mandirs during his lifetime. This Guinness World Records recognition will be formally received by Mahant Swami Maharaj on his behalf. Notably, Guinness World Records has so far conferred five records on Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj and the BAPS organisation for outstanding cultural achievements.
Commemorative Initiatives Marking the 92nd Birthday Celebrations: As part of the 92nd birth anniversary celebrations, BAPS organised numerous distinctive initiatives in Vadodara, including:
Mahapuja conducted by BAPS child scholars at 140 industrial units on Labh Panchami
A Vishvashanti Mahayajna at Sursagar Lake, featuring 1,292 BAPS children performing rituals across 292 yagna kunds
A torch relay (Mashal Yatra) undertaken by 92 youths, travelling from Mahant Swami Maharaj’s birthplace, Jabalpur, to Vadodara
A mega blood donation camp
Over 7,200 inspirational assemblies organised under the BAPS women’s activities wing
In Vadodara city, devotees personally visited more than one lakh households, inviting families to participate in the birthday celebration programme.
An estimated two lakh devotees are expected to attend the celebrations at the venue. Additionally, millions of devotees in India and abroad will be able to witness the programme through live telecast on Aastha Bhajan channel, live.baps.org, and other broadcast platforms.
