Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Nov 28, CEPT University organised the second edition of its Urban Transport Conference, focused on “Leveraging Technology for Efficient Urban Mobility.”
According to a press release issued by CEPT University here today that, The event brought together experts from government, academia, and industry to discuss how technology can address challenges in urban transport, reduce environmental impacts, and support better-connected cities.
Prof. Barjor Mehta, President, CEPT University, emphasised the role of cities in fostering economic growth and opportunities. “Cities are centres of economic development, offering avenues for individuals and businesses to thrive. Stakeholders, including urban planners, must work to reduce barriers in daily urban activities. Technology has the potential to enhance efficiency and create new opportunities in urban transportation.”
Discussions during the conference included:
Technology in Mobility: Talks by Nitin Nair (ONDC) on digital platforms for transit systems and Avinash Dubedi (WRI) on decarbonizing road freight.
Public Transport Systems: Insights on bus and metro transformations from Nitika Bhakuni and Pravesh Biyani.
Traffic Management: Presentations on adaptive traffic control by Shamanth Kuchangi and emissions monitoring by Amit Bhatt.
A panel discussion moderated by Prof. Shivanand Swamy explored the implications of emerging technologies on urban transport in India.
