~GCCI Business Women Committee gets new Chairperson as Shalu Lekhadia takes charge from Asha Vaghasia at leadership handover ceremony in Ahmedabad.

Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Sep 05 (VNI): The leadership handover ceremony of the GCCI Business Women Committee (BWC) was held at the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) premises on Ashram Road, Ahmedabad, with Zeal Shah, Co-Founder, Sahaay and Chief Trust Officer, Freeedom NGO, as the Chief Guest.
In the presence of GCCI members, outgoing BWC Chairperson Asha Vaghasia formally handed over charge to Shalu Lekhadia, who assumed office as the new Chairperson of the GCCI Business Women Committee.
Welcoming the gathering, GCCI President Rajesh Gandhi appreciated the significant contribution of the Business Women Committee to GCCI’s activities and congratulated Asha Vaghasia for her exemplary leadership and dedicated efforts during 2025–26. He welcomed Zeal Shah and appreciated the humanitarian work undertaken by her organisations.
Congratulating the newly appointed Chairperson Shalu Lekhadia, Gandhi wished her every success and called upon the Committee to further strengthen its contribution towards entrepreneurship and nation-building. He also urged members to strengthen and enrich the “Brand GCCI.” Asha Vaghasia highlighted the year-round initiatives and projects undertaken by the Committee during her tenure and expressed gratitude to GCCI leadership and members for their support.
Accepting the charge, Shalu Lekhadia thanked the GCCI leadership for reposing confidence in her and congratulated Asha Vaghasia on her successful tenure. She assured her commitment to GCCI’s objectives, urged members to actively participate in BWC initiatives and called upon women entrepreneurs to contribute towards the vision of “Viksit Bharat @2047.”
BWC Co-chairperson Bansi Shah delivered the welcome address, while Co-chairperson Namrata Shah introduced the Chief Guest. Zeal Shah appreciated the work of the GCCI Business Women Committee and emphasised that its initiatives should remain aligned with the greater good of society and create a positive and meaningful impact. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by BWC member Mansi Patel.
