Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Jan 20, The Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), under the NRG Taskforce, successfully organized the “NRI Marriage Awareness Seminar” at J G University, Ahmedabad.
According to GCCI, Additional Secretary General Geetaben Joshi today, The seminar convened distinguished speakers to address the legal, cyber, and social challenges associated with NRI marriages, with a strong focus on raising awareness and fostering preventive measures.
The program commenced with Shri Himanshu Vyas, Chairman of the NRG Taskforce, GCCI, delivering the theme address and introducing the esteemed guests. In his address, Vyas provided an overview of the role and mission of the NRG Taskforce, emphasizing its commitment to addressing the unique challenges faced by the global Gujarati diaspora. He highlighted the Taskforce’s initiatives aimed at strengthening connections between Non-Resident Gujaratis and their homeland while supporting them in legal, social, and economic matters. Himanshu sir further emphasized the significance of addressing the complexities surrounding NRI marriages, underscoring the Taskforce’s dedication to fostering awareness and providing actionable solutions..
Key highlights of the seminar included: Rajesh Porwal, Police Inspector, Cyber Crime Branch, Ahmedabad, provided a detailed account of the growing menace of cyber fraud and the importance of cyber fraud awareness. Dr. Julie Vakhariya, an experienced lawyer, focused on raising awareness about the legal intricacies and challenges involved in NRI marriages, offering practical advice to attendees.
Abhijit Gathraj, Founder and Principal Attorney of Gathraj & Co., further elaborated on the legal aspects, providing crucial information on safeguarding rights and addressing legal disputes in NRI marriage scenarios.
The seminar also saw contributions from Shri Shivangi Mukundray, Women Lokrakshak from the Cyber Crime Branch, Ahmedabad, who offered valuable perspectives on addressing cyber issues from a women-centric standpoint.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Hemal Prajapati, Co-Chairman of the NRG Taskforce.
