~MCX records turnover of Rs.19510.47 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.75506.5 crores in Options: MCXBULLDEX futures reaches at 21493
Mumbai, Maharashtra, May 16, GOLD futures drops by Rs.1145 and SILVER futures drops by Rs.1040, while Crude oil futures gains by Rs.20 on MCX.
MCX DAILY MARKET REPORT said today, India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.95017.55 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Friday, May 16, 2025 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 19510.47 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 75506.5 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX May-25 futures was reached at 21493.
Commodity Future Contracts: Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 15851.37 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was down by Rs.1145 or 1.23% to Rs. 92024 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN May-2025 contract was down by Rs.1030 or 1.1% to Rs. 92300 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA May-2025 contract was down by Rs.626 or 0.84% to Rs. 74328 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.83 or 0.88% to Rs. 9342 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM June-2025 contract was down by Rs.1066 or 1.14% to Rs. 92089 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with July expiry contract was down by Rs.1040 or 1.08% to Rs. 94875 per kg, while SILVERM June-2025 contract was down by Rs.959 or 1% to Rs. 94940 per kg and SILVERMIC June-2025 contract was down by Rs.954 or 0.99% to Rs. 94956 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 9495.63 crores with volume of 10209 lots and OI of 16660 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1178.03 crores with volume of 4109 lots and OI of 22516 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 1912.50 crores. COPPER May-2025 contract was down by Rs.5.55 or 0.64% to Rs. 856.7 per kg and ZINC May-2025 contract was down by Rs.1.35 or 0.52% to Rs. 257.7 per kg while ALUMINIUM May-2025 contract was down by Rs.2.8 or 1.16% to Rs. 238.25 per kg and LEAD May-2025 contract was up by Rs.0.05 or 0.03% to Rs. 178.75 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1105.33 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 372.88 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 25.88 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 271.76 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 1744.02 crores. CRUDEOIL May-2025 contract was up by Rs.20 or 0.38% to Rs. 5291 per BBL while NATURALGAS May-2025 contract was down by Rs.6.5 or 2.23% to Rs. 285.6 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 728.06 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 777.46 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.2 or 0.22% to Rs. 908 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was down by Rs.460 or 0.84% to Rs. 53990 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 75506.5 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1187.28 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.5300 was up by Rs.4.4 or 2.17% to Rs. 207.40 with volume of 46400 lots & OI of 9749 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5200 was down by Rs.14.4 or 6.98% to Rs. 192 with volume of 34451 lots & OI of 6516 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.290 was down by Rs.2.9 or 23.11% to Rs. 9.65 with volume of 25152 lots & OI of 9025 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.290 was up by Rs.3.6 or 34.78% to Rs. 13.95 with volume of 18584 lots & OI of 7186 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.93000 was down by Rs.425.5 or 32.35% to Rs. 890 with volume of 4690 lots & OI of 1060 lots, while GOLD Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was up by Rs.436 or 57.9% to Rs. 1189 with volume of 5184 lots & OI of 873 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was down by Rs.422 or 14.77% to Rs. 2436 with volume of 625 lots & OI of 391 lots, while SILVER Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by Rs.489 or 20.1% to Rs. 2922 with volume of 400 lots & OI of 531 lots.
