~MCXBULLDEX futures reaches at 21485: MCX records turnover of Rs.13559.36 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.39460.2 crores in Options
Mumbai, Maharashtra, May 02, GOLD futures gains by 1% and SILVER futures gains by 0.31%, while CRUDEOIL futures gains by 0.46% on MCX.
According to MCX DAILY MARKET REPORT today, India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.53019.75 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Friday, May 02, 2025 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 13559.36 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 39460.2 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX May-25 futures was reached at 21485.
Commodity Future Contracts: Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 10823.12 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was up by Rs.919 or 1% to Rs. 93258 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN May-2025 contract was up by Rs.821 or 0.89% to Rs. 93480 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA May-2025 contract was up by Rs.525 or 0.7% to Rs. 75210 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL May-2025 contract was up by Rs.72 or 0.77% to Rs. 9435 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM May-2025 contract was up by Rs.840 or 0.91% to Rs. 93550 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with May expiry contract was up by Rs.293 or 0.31% to Rs. 93876 per kg, while SILVERM June-2025 contract was up by Rs.253 or 0.27% to Rs. 95073 per kg and SILVERMIC June-2025 contract was up by Rs.257 or 0.27% to Rs. 95098 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 6323.92 crores with volume of 6800 lots and OI of 18622 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1075.59 crores with volume of 3766 lots and OI of 18193 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 1472.63 crores. COPPER May-2025 contract was up by Rs.9.3 or 1.12% to Rs. 840 per kg and ZINC May-2025 contract was up by Rs.1.45 or 0.59% to Rs. 245.7 per kg while ALUMINIUM May-2025 contract was up by Rs.1.7 or 0.74% to Rs. 232.6 per kg and LEAD May-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.1 or 0.06% to Rs. 177 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 968.64 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 114.67 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 34.97 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 247.92 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 1169.46 crores. CRUDEOIL May-2025 contract was up by Rs.23 or 0.46% to Rs. 4995 per BBL while NATURALGAS May-2025 contract was up by Rs.4.2 or 1.45% to Rs. 294.8 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 381.00 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 592.71 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.3.4 or 0.37% to Rs. 910 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was up by Rs.110 or 0.2% to Rs. 54300 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 39460.2 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 837.62 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.5000 was up by Rs.6.6 or 3.39% to Rs. 201.50 with volume of 35949 lots & OI of 12099 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5000 was down by Rs.17.8 or 7.97% to Rs. 205.5 with volume of 36418 lots & OI of 7896 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.290 was up by Rs.2 or 10% to Rs. 22.00 with volume of 9191 lots & OI of 2833 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.290 was down by Rs.1.85 or 9.49% to Rs. 17.65 with volume of 7292 lots & OI of 3768 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by Rs.281.5 or 32.58% to Rs. 1145.5 with volume of 1141 lots & OI of 584 lots, while GOLD Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was down by Rs.199 or 23.85% to Rs. 635.5 with volume of 1199 lots & OI of 742 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by Rs.131.5 or 4.08% to Rs. 3358 with volume of 426 lots & OI of 449 lots, while SILVER Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by Rs.84.5 or 2.48% to Rs. 3329.5 with volume of 227 lots & OI of 433 lots.
