According to MCX Weekly MARKET REPORT today India’s Leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs. 1318151.52 crores in various futures & option contracts on MCX during the week of April, 21 to 24. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 191174.77 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 1126946.40 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Apr-25 futures was reached at 22107 point.
Commodity Future Contracts: Bullion: During the reviewed week, precious metals saw GOLD and SILVER futures trading worth Rs.1,58,876.38 crore. MCX GOLD June futures opened at Rs.96,696, touched an intra-day high of Rs.99,358 and a low of Rs.94,000, and closed at Rs.95,912, up Rs.658 or 0.69% from the previous close of Rs.95,254. GOLD-GUINEA April futures rose by Rs.97 or 0.13% to Rs.76,410. GOLD-PETAL April futures increased by Rs.21 or 0.22% to Rs.9,611. GOLD-MINI May futures opened at Rs.95,550, hit an intra-day high of Rs.99,704 and a low of Rs.93,896, and closed at Rs.95,807, up Rs.1,023 or 1.08%. GOLD-TEN April futures opened at Rs.96,335, reached an intra-day high of Rs.99,135 and a low of Rs.94,373, and closed at Rs.95,402, up Rs.402 or 0.42% from Rs.95,000.
In SILVER futures, SILVER May futures opened at Rs.95,600, hit an intra-day high of Rs.98,080 and a low of Rs.94,417, and closed at Rs.97,511, up Rs.2,474 or 2.6% from Rs.95,037. SILVER-MINI April futures rose by Rs.2,113 or 2.22% to Rs.97,106, and SILVER-MICRO April futures increased by Rs.2,269 or 2.39% to Rs.97,250.
Base Metal: The metals segment recorded trades worth Rs.10,668.93 crore. COPPER April futures rose by Rs.9.35 or 1.11% to Rs.854.3. ZINC April futures increased by Rs.6.55 or 2.65% to Rs.253.85. ALUMINIUM April futures gained Rs.3.6 or 1.56% to Rs.234.65, while LEAD April futures fell by Rs.1.8 or 1.02% to Rs.175.3.
Energy: In the energy segment, traders executed deals worth Rs.21,610.67 crore. MCX CRUDE OIL May futures opened at Rs.5,382, touched an intra-day high of Rs.5,566 and a low of Rs.5,272, and closed at Rs.5,380, down Rs.99 or 1.81% from Rs.5,479. CRUDE OIL-MINI May futures fell by Rs.95 or 1.73% to Rs.5,383. NATURAL GAS May futures opened at Rs.286.9, hit an intra-day high of Rs.289.7 and a low of Rs.257.6, and closed at Rs.263.5, down Rs.30 or 10.22% from Rs.293.5. NATURAL GAS-MINI May futures dropped by Rs.30.1 or 10.25% to Rs.263.5.
AGRI: In agricultural commodities, MENTHA OIL April futures opened at Rs.917 and closed at Rs.907.7, down Rs.6.1 or 0.67%. COTTON CANDY May futures surged by Rs.920 or 1.67% to Rs.55,950. KAPAS futures up by Rs.29 to Rs. 1484.
Volume: In terms of trading volume, GOLD contracts saw Rs.1,16,133.94 crore, and SILVER contracts Rs.42,742.44 crore. COPPER futures recorded Rs.6,531.71 crore, ALUMINIUM and ALUMINIUM-MINI Rs.1,507.67 crore, LEAD and LEAD-MINI Rs.233.40 crore, and ZINC and ZINC-MINI Rs.2,396.15 crore. CRUDE OIL and CRUDE OIL-MINI futures saw Rs.6,491.80 crore, NATURAL GAS and NATURAL GAS-MINI Rs.15,118.88 crore, MENTHA OIL Rs.17.04 crore, and COTTON CANDY Rs.1.54 crore.
Open interest: Open interest at the week’s end included 18,030 lots for GOLD futures, 17,738 for GOLD-MINI, 486 for GOLD-guinea, 3,035 for GOLD-petal, and 420 for GOLD-ten. SILVER futures had 9,509 lots, SILVER-MINI 4,493 lots, and SILVER-MICRO 9,960 lots. CRUDE OIL futures stood at 13,690 lots, and NATURAL GAS at 13,453 lots.
index futures: In index futures, Buldex May futures opened at 22,000 points, touched an intra-day high of 22,636 and a low of 21,787, and closed 42 points higher at 22,107 points.
