Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Apr 14, Gujarat Technological University (GTU) Incubatee ‘Sportomic’ Wins National Acclaim at Startup Mahakumbh 2025, Recognised as Best in Sports & Gaming Category.
According to GTU sources, GTU proudly announces a remarkable national achievement by Sportomic, a startup incubated at GTU Ventures, which has been awarded the title of Best Startup in the Sports & Gaming category at the prestigious Startup Mahakumbh held in New Delhi.
Founded by Mr Rahul Jhunjhunwala, Sportomic emerged as one of the Top 50 startups from over 3,000 contenders across India and was the only startup from Gujarat to win the Startup Maharathi Challenge, marking a moment of pride for GTU Ventures and the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem of the state. The award was conferred in the esteemed presence of Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce & Industry; Mr Prashant, Partner at Accel; and Mr Aman Gupta, Co-founder of boAt. The Minister praised Sportomic’s innovative approach to making sports more accessible across Indian towns and cities and encouraged the wider implementation of its model at the national level. As part of the recognition, Sportomic has been awarded a grant of ₹5 lakhs by DPIIT, Government of India, to scale its impact further.
