~Gujarat Technological University (GTU) Hosts Ideathon 2025 – Avdharna, Catalysing Innovation for a Greener and Inclusive Tomorrow
Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Apr 29, The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) successfully hosted the 3rd edition of National Innovation Pitch Fest _Ideathon 2025: Avdharna_ at the GTU Chandkheda Campus, marking a significant milestone in the journey of nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship in India.
The event witnessed the participation of 192 innovators, including 125 men and 67 women, representing over 80 dynamic teams from across India. These young minds pitched transformative ideas under four core themes; _Fintech_ (digital innovation for financial inclusion), _Agritech_ (empowering farmers through technology), _AI-ML_ (harnessing artificial intelligence and machine learning), and _Sustainability_ (building a greener, resilient future); each aimed at addressing pressing real-world challenges through innovative thinking and technology-driven solutions.
“The ideas you sow today will shape the strength of society for the next fifty years. Think sustainably, innovate responsibly,”_ said Jagdish Vishwakarma, Minister of State, Government of Gujarat, during a special session. During this, startups and students directly interacted with the MoS, gaining valuable insights into how innovation can drive a sustainable and inclusive future.
Dr. Rajul K Gajjar, Vice-Chancellor of GTU, spoke about the University’s commitment to building a future-ready entrepreneurial ecosystem that empowers student-led innovation. The event also featured the presence of several eminent academicians and industry experts including Dr Pankajray Patel, Director, GTU-SMS; Dr Vaibhav Bhatt, Director, GTU Ventures; Dr Mihir Shah, Advisor; Dr Keyur Darji, Director – Department of International Relations & Industry Collaborations & Assistant Registrar, GTU; Dr Chirag Vibhakar, Principal, GPERI; Dr Tushar Panchal, Group CEO, GTU Innovation and Startup Centre.
Organised by GTU Ventures (AIC GISC Foundation, GISC-GTU, and the Design Innovation Centre) in collaboration with the GTU School of Management Studies, the event received strong support from Startup India, Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), DST-NIDHI, SSIP, and several other partners from the innovation ecosystem.
Looking ahead, GTU Ventures will extend incubation support to select teams, encouraging them to further develop their ideas and transform them into viable startups. This strategic move reaffirms GTU’s role in building a technologically advanced, socially inclusive, and environmentally responsible future. The grand success of Ideathon 2025 highlights Gujarat’s growing stature as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship.
