Rajkot, Gujarat, Apr 25, Department of Posts is no longer just an organization for delivering mails; it is transforming into a modern and dynamic institution actively contributing to the progress of the nation. In the digital era, India Post is evolving as a multi-dimensional service provider, playing a vital role in the implementation of several flagship schemes. These views were expressed by Postmaster General, Saurashtra and Kutch Region, Krishna Kumar Yadav, during the review meeting of Divisional Heads for the financial year 2024–25 and the Felicitation Ceremony held in Rajkot on April 25, 2025.
He emphasized on innovation in postal services along with increasing its efficiency and outreach, financial inclusion, digitization, integrating technology and strengthening marketing strategy. A booklet on Postal services and it’s features in Gujarati language was also released during this occasion.
During the event, more than 45 postal employees from the twelve districts under the Saurashtra & Kutch Region were felicitated for their exemplary performance in various fields.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav stated that Post offices are now providing multiple services under one roof, including mails and Parcel Services, Savings Bank, Life Insurance, India Post Payments Bank, DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), Digital Banking, Aadhaar, Passport, Common Service Center, and Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra (Post Office Export Center). Through the Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra, local entrepreneurs are being promoted under the ‘Local to Global’ concept. Toolkits under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana are also being delivered across the country through Post offices. Special arrangements have been made to send e-commerce, MSME, local handicrafts, ODOP (One District One Product), and GI products through Post offices. Now, through upcoming IT Modernization Project 2.0, India Post, the world’s largest Postal network, will also be able to make a significant contribution to ‘Digital India’ and ‘Viksit Bharat’ by strengthening its digital infrastructure in rural areas. He praised the enthusiastic participation of Postal Employees in the campaign to connect people with citizen-centric services through 7201 ‘Dak Chaupals’ in Saurashtra & Kutch during Republic Day, Independence Day, National Postal Week etc.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav felicitated Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Rajkot Division, Shri Shrawan Kumar Bunker for opening the highest number of new Savings Bank accounts and for maximum Aadhaar Revenue. Similarly, Superintendent of Post offices, Bhavnagar Division, Shri Darshan Tapasvi was felicitated for opening the highest number of net POSB accounts, for maximum Postal Operation Revenue and for maximum Speed Post Revenue. Shri Sanjaykumar Mistry, Superintendent of Post offices, Surendranagar Division was felicitated for highest Postal Life Insurance Premium, for highest Rural Postal Life Insurance Premium, Aadhar revenue, opening net POSB Accounts and for delivery of Speed Post/Registered Post. Superintendent of Post Offices, Kuthch Division was felicitated for opening net POSB Accounts, RPLI Premium and Parcel Revenue. Shri Vipul Gupta, Superintendent of Post Offices, Jamnagar Division was felicitated for maximum Parcel Revenue and for Aadhar Revenue. Superintendent of Post Offices, Shri Ratilal Patel, Porbandar Division was felicitated for Postal Operation Revenue and RPLI Premium. Superintendent of Post Offices, Gondal Division, Shri Krunal Shukla, was felicitated for Parcel Revenue and PLI Premium. Superintendent of Post Offices, Amreli Division, Bhavesh Patel was felicitated for PLI Premium. Superintendent of Post Offices, Junagadh Division was felicitated for Postal Operation Revenue. Superintendent of Railway Mail Service, ‘RJ’ Division, Rajkot was felicitated for Speed Post Revenue.
Postal Officials who performed well at both the Divisional and Sub-divisional levels were also felicitated by PMG Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav. These included Assistant Superintendent, Shri Baldev Chavda from Surendranagar North Sub Division. Inspector of Posts, Shri Dilip Bhutaiya from Rajula Sub Division and Assistant Superintendent, Shri Krushnadevsinh Sarvaiya from West Sub Division Bhavnagar for securing the first, second and third positions respectively in opening net POSB accounts in the Sub-Division category. Development Officer (PLI)Shri Kuldeep Pujara and Direct Agent Gopalji Jadeja were also felicitated.
Those who were felicitated included the Superintendent of Posts as well as Assistant Superintendent of Posts, Inspector of Posts, Postmaster, Postal Assistant, Branch Postmaster and Gramin Dak Sevak.
On this occasion, along with various Divisional Heads, Assistant Directors M. H. Haran and K. S. Thakkar, Accounts Officer Jugal Kishore, Assistant Superintendents Payal Mehta, M. V. Joshi, Shri S. J. Chudasama, K. B. Parmar, Inspector of Posts Bhavesh Kubawat, Kishore Bhati and many other officers and employees were present.
