Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Jan 11, Insurance Awareness Seminar Organized at Ahmedabad in Gujarat today.
According to Addl. Secretary General Rahul Sheth, GCCI’s Insurance Taskforce, Mahajan Sankalan Taskforce, and Gem & Jewellery Taskforce jointly organized an insightful Insurance Awareness Seminar today at its premises.
Apurva Shah, Vice President GCCI, graced the event and felicitated Shri Zaverbhai Zaveri, President of the Gujarat Jewelers Association and a distinguished figure in Gujarat’s jewelry sector.
Seminar commenced with an opening address by Gaurang Bhagat, Hon. Secretary, GCCI. In his address he mentioned that in today’s unpredictable times, insurance has become a vital tool for safeguarding both personal lives and businesses against emergencies or crises. Understanding the right type of insurance and accessing reliable services is equally crucial. He added that as GCCI celebrates 75 years of fostering business and industrial growth, this seminar marks another significant step toward knowledge enhancement. Additionally, he announced GATE 2025, a Mega Trade Expo from 10th to 12th April 2025 at Science City, Ahmedabad, featuring over 350 exhibitors and aligning with the vision of “Developed India 2047” organized by GCCI. He appreciated the Insurance Taskforce led by Chairman, Nilesh Desai, Mahajan Sankalan Taskforce led by Chairman, Shri Ashish Jhaveri and Gems & Jewellery Task Force led by Chairman, Vipul Mehta for organizing this meaningful program.
In his theme address, Parth Desai highlighted the insurance challenges faced primarily by traders and jewelers. He provided a brief introduction of the expert speakers and warmly acknowledged the presence of Zaverbhai Zaveri, President of the Gujarat Jewelers Association.

The seminar provided detailed insights into various aspects of insurance, addressing industry-specific concerns such as tailored solutions for trade and small industries, shop-related insurance policies, and Jeweler Block Insurance. Experts emphasized the importance of accurately determining the sum insured, ensuring proper classification of occupancy, and leveraging GST credit to optimize insurance costs. They also highlighted critical areas such as robbery coverage, logistics-related risks, and optional policy extensions, offering practical solutions for these challenges. Key topics included methods for determining appropriate insurance valuations and providing clear answers to general queries on policy terms, exclusions, renewals, and customization options. The interactive session, moderated by Shri Parth Desai, allowed attendees to clarify practical aspects of insurance, gaining a better understanding of how insurance can effectively mitigate risks across various industries.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ashish Jhaveri, Chairman, Mahajan Sankalan Taskforce, who acknowledged the speakers for their valuable insights and the participants for their active engagement.
