Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Apr 22, Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav felicitated Postal Employees for their excellent services during Financial Year 2024-25.
Department of Posts is no longer just an organization for delivering mails, it is transforming into a modern and dynamic institution actively contributing to the progress of the nation. In the digital era, India Post is evolving as a multi-dimensional service provider, playing a vital role in the implementation of several flagship schemes. These views were expressed by Postmaster General of North Gujarat Region Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, during the review meeting of Divisional and Sub-Divisional Heads for the financial year 2024–25 and the Felicitation Ceremony held in Ahmedabad on April 22, 2025.
Shri Yadav emphasized on increasing the efficiency and outreach of postal services along with innovation, financial inclusion, digitization, integrating technology and strengthening the marketing strategy. A booklet on Postal services and it’s feature in Gujarati language was also released during the function.
During the event, more than 80 postal employees from the eight districts under the North Gujarat Region were felicitated for their exemplary performance in various fields. These included Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Assistant Directors, Assistant Superintendents, Inspectors, Postmasters, Postal Assistants, Marketing Executives, Development Officers (Postal Life Insurance), Direct Agents, Postmen, MTS, Branch Postmasters, and Gramin Dak Sevaks.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav stated that Post offices are now providing multiple services under one roof, including mails and Parcel Services, Savings Bank, Life Insurance, India Post Payments Bank, DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), Digital Banking, Aadhaar, Passport, Common Service Center, and Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra (Post Office Export Center). Through the Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra, local entrepreneurs are being promoted under the ‘Local to Global’ concept. Toolkits under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana are also being delivered across the country through Post offices. Special arrangements have been made to send e-commerce, MSME, local handicrafts, ODOP (One District One Product), and GI products through Post offices. Now, through upcoming IT Modernization Project 2.0, India Post, the world’s largest Postal network, will also be able to make a significant contribution to ‘Digital India’ and ‘Viksit Bharat’ by strengthening its digital infrastructure in rural areas. He praised the enthusiastic participation of Postal Employees in the campaign to connect people with citizen-centric services through 6886 ‘Dak Chaupals’ in North Gujarat during Republic Day, Independence Day, National Postal Week etc.
Postmaster General felicitated the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Ahmedabad City Division for opening the highest number of new Savings Bank accounts, achieving 100% coverage of new savings accounts in Branch Post offices and Sub-Post offices, for maximum Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance Premiums. Similarly, Sr. Superintendent of Post offices Gandhinagar Division, Shri Piyush Rajak, was felicitated for opening the highest number of net POSB accounts and for maximum Aadhaar revenue. Deputy Chief Postmaster of Ahmedabad GPO, Alpesh Shah was felicitated for the highest Postal Operation Revenue, Speed Post & Parcel Revenue and delivery of Speed Post/Registered Post. Sanjeev Kumar Verma, Superintendent of Post Offices, Sabarkantha Division was felicitated for opening net POSB Accounts, Aadhaar Revenue, Parcel Revenue and highest Postal Life Insurance Premium. Govind Sharma, Sr. Superintendent of RMS, “AM” Division, Ahmedabad was felicitated for Speed Post Revenue. Harshadkumar Parmar, SPOs Patan Division was felicitated for Postal Operation Revenue and for opening the highest number of net POSB Accounts and Aadhaar Revenue. R.A Goswami, Superintendent of Post Offices, Banaskantha Division was felicitated for Postal Operation Revenue, PLI & RPLI Premium, Speed Post and Parcel Revenue. Shri Sirajbhai Mansuri, SPOs, Mehsana Division was felicitated for achieving 100% coverage in opening new Savings Accounts in Branch and Sub-Post offices, as well as for the highest Rural Postal Life Insurance Premium. In addition, Assistant Directors M.M. Shaikh and Ritul Gandhi were felicitated for continuous monitoring of various services at the Regional Office.
Postal Officials who performed well at both the Divisional and Sub-divisional levels were also felicitated by PMG Shri Yadav. These included Assistant Superintendent, Hardiksinh Rathod from Ahmedabad (North) City Division, Assistant Superintendent, Shri Alkesh Parmar from Ahmedabad (West) City Division and Inspector of Post, Shri Nehlakumar Patel from Patan Sub-Division for securing the first, second and third positions respectively in opening net POSB accounts in the Sub-Division category. Development Officer (PLI) Shri Umang Bhatt and Direct Agent Ms. Vandanaben Darji were also felicitated.
On this occasion, along with various Divisional Heads, retired Director of Postal Services, Ms. Meeta Shah, Assistant Directors  M.M. Shaikh, Ritul Gandhi, Varish Vohra, Assistant Accounts Officer Chetan Sain, Assistant Superintendents Jinesh Patel, Ramesh Patel, Ravindra Parmar, Ronak Shah, Inspector of Post Ms. Payal Patel, and many other officials were present.
