Mumbai, Maharashtra, Jan 02, MCX GOLD futures gains by 0.53% and SILVER futures gains by 1.34%, while CRUDEOIL futures gains by 1.22%.
According to MCX DAILY MARKET REPORT today, India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.72105.4 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 02 January 2025 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 11917.6 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 60185.84 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Jan-25 futures was reached at 18736 point.
Commodity Future Contracts: Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 6475.02 crores. GOLD Feb-25 contract was up by 0.53% to Rs. 77301 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Jan-25 contract was up by 0.51% to Rs. 62365 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Jan-25 contract was up by 0.21% to Rs. 7708 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Jan-25 contract was up by 0.67% to Rs. 76721 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was up by 1.34% to Rs. 88748 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was up by 1.26% to Rs. 88805 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was up by 1.29% to Rs. 88814 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2566.49 crores with volume of 3323 lots and OI of 14586 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1587.60 crores with volume of 5973 lots and OI of 36068 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1630.89 crores. COPPER Jan-25 contract was up by 0.07% to Rs. 794.4 per kg and ZINC Jan-25 contract was down by 0.84% to Rs. 277.25 per kg while ALUMINIUM Jan-25 contract was up by 0.31% to Rs. 242.45 per kg and LEAD Jan-25 contract was down by 0.11% to Rs. 177.4 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 778.94 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 135.99 crores, Lead futures Rs. 85.70 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 428.01 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 4042.09 crores. CRUDEOIL Jan-25 contract was up by 1.22% to Rs. 6246 per BBL while NATURALGAS Jan-25 contract was up by 0.63% to Rs. 317.2 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 491.79 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 2924.00 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Jan-25 contract was up by 0.01% to Rs. 941 per kg and COTTONCNDY Jan-25 contract was up by 0.13% to Rs. 54400 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 60185.84 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1240.21 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6200 was up by 27.59% to Rs. 156.30 with volume of 66086 lots & OI of 8822 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6200 was down by 24.98% to Rs. 116.8 with volume of 69022 lots & OI of 18888 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.320 was up by 2.99% to Rs. 25.85 with volume of 17652 lots & OI of 3189 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.310 was down by 4.79% to Rs. 22.85 with volume of 13656 lots & OI of 2809 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was up by 35.28% to Rs. 682.50 with volume of 1139 lots & OI of 437 lots, while Gold Put Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.76000 was down by 25.65% to Rs. 446.5 with volume of 1269 lots & OI of 670 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was up by 18.59% to Rs. 2577.00 with volume of 511 lots & OI of 1236 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.88000 was down by 18.39% to Rs. 2682 with volume of 270 lots & OI of 233 lots.
