Mumbai, Maharashtra, Dec 12, MCX records turnover of Rs.10092.95 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.66146.74 crores in Options.
According to MCX DAILY MARKET REPORT India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.76239.79 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 12 December 2024 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 10092.95 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 66146.74 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Dec-24 futures was reached at 19388 point.
Commodity Future Contracts: Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 5893.17 crores. GOLD Feb-25 contract was down by 0.22% to Rs. 78829 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Dec-24 contract was up by 0.09% to Rs. 63108 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Dec-24 contract was down by 0.14% to Rs. 7774 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Jan-25 contract was down by 0.14% to Rs. 78180 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was up by 0.22% to Rs. 96014 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.21% to Rs. 95897 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was up by 0.23% to Rs. 95902 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2095.57 crores with volume of 2655 lots and OI of 17072 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1920.90 crores with volume of 6653 lots and OI of 24094 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1500.36 crores. COPPER Dec-24 contract was up by 0.33% to Rs. 832.3 per kg and ZINC Dec-24 contract was up by 0.02% to Rs. 291 per kg while ALUMINIUM Dec-24 contract was up by 0.08% to Rs. 244.95 per kg and LEAD Dec-24 contract was up by 0.03% to Rs. 179.5 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 967.62 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 141.91 crores, Lead futures Rs. 26.51 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 260.53 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2739.92 crores. CRUDEOIL Dec-24 contract was up by 0.62% to Rs. 5971 per BBL while NATURALGAS Dec-24 contract was down by 0.35% to Rs. 285.7 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 684.30 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1697.02 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Dec-24 contract was up by 0.13% to Rs. 921 per kg .
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 66146.74 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 827.6 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was up by 23.42% to Rs. 52.70 with volume of 112439 lots & OI of 32255 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was down by 21.38% to Rs. 85.3 with volume of 84654 lots & OI of 17368 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.290 without any changes 13.55 with volume of 15549 lots & OI of 5876 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.280 was up by 3.96% to Rs. 11.8 with volume of 15272 lots & OI of 5451 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.80000 was down by 14.78% to Rs. 622.50 with volume of 1279 lots & OI of 726 lots, while Gold Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was up by 8.85% to Rs. 750 with volume of 1366 lots & OI of 687 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was down by 2.81% to Rs. 2850.00 with volume of 204 lots & OI of 1766 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by 1.22% to Rs. 3950 with volume of 155 lots & OI of 271 lots.
