Mumbai, Maharashtra, Dec 19, MCX records turnover of Rs.12082.79 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.65967.54 crores in Options.
According to MCX DAILY MARKET REPORT India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.78051.53 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 19 December 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 12082.79 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 65967.54 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Dec-24 futures was reached at 18565 point.
Commodity Future Contracts: Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 8464.00 crores. GOLD Feb-25 contract was down by 0.54% to Rs. 76237 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Dec-24 contract was down by 0.68% to Rs. 61351 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Dec-24 contract was down by 0.55% to Rs. 7636 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Jan-25 contract was down by 0.62% to Rs. 75644 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was down by 2.02% to Rs. 88555 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was down by 1.99% to Rs. 88655 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was down by 1.96% to Rs. 88682 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2968.08 crores with volume of 3900 lots and OI of 14583 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2562.71 crores with volume of 9655 lots and OI of 33519 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1563.59 crores. COPPER Dec-24 contract was down by 1.12% to Rs. 799.4 per kg and ZINC Dec-24 contract was down by 0.6% to Rs. 280.4 per kg while ALUMINIUM Dec-24 contract was down by 0.17% to Rs. 241.7 per kg and LEAD Dec-24 contract was down by 0.23% to Rs. 177.35 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 847.50 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 151.24 crores, Lead futures Rs. 10.91 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 394.94 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2049.49 crores. CRUDEOIL Jan-25 contract was down by 0.32% to Rs. 5970 per BBL while NATURALGAS Dec-24 contract was up by 3.04% to Rs. 294.9 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 365.58 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1431.51 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Dec-24 contract was up by 0.23% to Rs. 930 per kg and COTTONCNDY Jan-25 contract was down by 0.06% to Rs. 54150 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 65967.54 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1006.54 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was down by 5.71% to Rs. 160.20 with volume of 55166 lots & OI of 15679 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was up by 7.03% to Rs. 195 with volume of 42391 lots & OI of 10889 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.290 was up by 50.28% to Rs. 13.45 with volume of 29866 lots & OI of 7761 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.290 was down by 32.26% to Rs. 8.4 with volume of 31606 lots & OI of 8396 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was down by 35.59% to Rs. 214.50 with volume of 3123 lots & OI of 1363 lots, while Gold Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.75000 was up by 15.69% to Rs. 295 with volume of 3093 lots & OI of 1891 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was down by 21.76% to Rs. 3000.00 with volume of 792 lots & OI of 916 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.85000 was up by 38.87% to Rs. 1911.5 with volume of 481 lots & OI of 514 lots.
