Mumbai, Maharashtra, Jan 17, MCX records turnover of Rs.14028.91 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.56730.45 crores in Options.
According to MCX DAILY MARKET REPORT today India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.70760.99 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 17 January 2025 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 14028.91 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 56730.45 crores (notional).
Commodity Future Contracts: Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 7958.15 crores. GOLD Feb/25 contract was down by 0.29% to Rs. 79000 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Jan/25 contract was down by 0.13% to Rs. 63623 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Jan/25 contract was down by 0.01% to Rs. 7851 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Feb/25 contract was down by 0.26% to Rs. 78952 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar/25 contract was down by 0.67% to Rs. 92185 per kg, while SILVERM Feb/25 contract was down by 0.63% to Rs. 92178 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb/25 contract was down by 0.64% to Rs. 92166 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3657.31 crores with volume of 4611 lots and OI of 17552 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1812.61 crores with volume of 6552 lots and OI of 23278 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1582.53 crores. COPPER Jan/25 contract was down by 0.08% to Rs. 837 per kg and ZINC Jan/25 contract was up by 1.09% to Rs. 277.1 per kg while ALUMINIUM Jan/25 contract was up by 1.11% to Rs. 255.35 per kg and LEAD Jan/25 contract was up by 0.37% to Rs. 178.45 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 634.10 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 213.50 crores, Lead futures Rs. 50.94 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 400.10 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 4589.42 crores. CRUDEOIL Jan/25 contract was down by 0.34% to Rs. 6810 per BBL while NATURALGAS Jan/25 contract was down by 0.7% to Rs. 353.8 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 968.53 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 3006.70 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Jan/25 contract was down by 0.01% to Rs. 927 per kg and COTTONCNDY Jan/25 contract was down by 0.3% to Rs. 54060 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 56730.45 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1340.52 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Feb/25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6800 was down by 5.31% to Rs. 224.60 with volume of 31986 lots & OI of 6198 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Feb/25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6800 was up by 3.6% to Rs. 279.4 with volume of 31594 lots & OI of 5554 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Jan/25 contract at Strike price of Rs.360 was down by 6.67% to Rs. 17.50 with volume of 25300 lots & OI of 7604 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Jan/25 contract at Strike price of Rs.350 was up by 5.69% to Rs. 17.65 with volume of 23641 lots & OI of 5767 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Jan/25 contract at Strike price of Rs.80000 was down by 22.42% to Rs. 320.00 with volume of 1955 lots & OI of 789 lots, while Gold Put Option Jan/25 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was up by 15.43% to Rs. 303 with volume of 2339 lots & OI of 1150 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb/25 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was down by 9.73% to Rs. 3035.00 with volume of 1266 lots & OI of 542 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb/25 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was up by 9.54% to Rs. 2772.5 with volume of 1104 lots & OI of 288 lots.
