Mumbai, Maharashtra, Dec 30, MCX records turnover of Rs.9564 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.62412 crores in Options.
According to MCX DAILY MARKET REPORT today, India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.71977.21 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 30 December 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 9564.56 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 62412 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Jan-25 futures was reached at 18595 point.
Commodity Future Contracts: Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 5154.25 crores. GOLD Feb-25 contract was up by 0.01% to Rs. 76555 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Jan-25 contract was up by 0.03% to Rs. 61920 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Dec-24 contract was up by 0.22% to Rs. 7636 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Jan-25 contract was up by 0.05% to Rs. 75824 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was up by 0.2% to Rs. 89063 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.16% to Rs. 89115 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was up by 0.13% to Rs. 89126 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2428.01 crores with volume of 3170 lots and OI of 14768 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 849.52 crores with volume of 3181 lots and OI of 33527 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1048.36 crores. COPPER Dec-24 contract was down by 0.26% to Rs. 802 per kg and ZINC Jan-25 contract was up by 0.83% to Rs. 285.2 per kg while ALUMINIUM Dec-24 contract was down by 0.52% to Rs. 251 per kg and LEAD Jan-25 contract was up by 0.17% to Rs. 178.2 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 562.39 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 150.71 crores, Lead futures Rs. 33.08 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 200.34 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 3355.92 crores. CRUDEOIL Jan-25 contract was up by 0.41% to Rs. 6060 per BBL while NATURALGAS Jan-25 contract was up by 13.68% to Rs. 323.2 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 335.22 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 2545.15 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Jan-25 contract was up by 0.15% to Rs. 942 per kg and COTTONCNDY Jan-25 contract was up by 0.3% to Rs. 54300 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 62412 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 921 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was up by 7.23% to Rs. 173.60 with volume of 40635 lots & OI of 16417 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was down by 10.07% to Rs. 117 with volume of 46016 lots & OI of 24420 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.320 was up by 144.4% to Rs. 30.55 with volume of 10345 lots & OI of 2579 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.300 was down by 48.18% to Rs. 17.1 with volume of 12368 lots & OI of 4205 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.77000 was down by 41.99% to Rs. 90.50 with volume of 5932 lots & OI of 1634 lots, while Gold Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.76000 was down by 43.64% to Rs. 77.5 with volume of 6326 lots & OI of 1500 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was up by 0.97% to Rs. 2720.00 with volume of 179 lots & OI of 1059 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.89000 was down by 3.88% to Rs. 3100 with volume of 247 lots & OI of 186 lots.
