Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Dec 17, GUJARAT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY (GCCI)’s Banking and Finance Committee and IT & ITES Committee jointly organized a seminar today on Cyber Security and Digital Banking Products to discuss the evolving digital landscape and the imperative of robust cyber security measures.
Sandeep Engineer, President of GCCI in his welcome address highlighted the increasing reliance on digital banking and the critical need for robust cyber security to protect individuals and businesses from digital threats. He emphasized that India’s digital revolution has transformed the economy, enabled seamless transactions and empowered even small vendors with tools like QR codes. However, this rapid digital adoption has also led to rising cyber frauds.
Surendra Shah, Chairman, Banking & Finance Committee, GCCI, delivered the theme address. He highlighted the crucial role of cyber security in the digital banking era and its impact on the future of financial transactions. He stressed the importance of balancing technological advancements with robust security measures.
A fireside chat between Peeyush Bhardwaj, Digital Banking & Transformation Division, Head Office, Punjab National Bank (PNB) and Satyarth Srivastava, member of IT & ITES committee, Hon. Treasurer, GESIA provided valuable insights into tackling cyber threats in the financial ecosystem and ensuring secure digital banking. The discussion covered critical measures adopted by Punjab National Bank, including AI-driven threat detection and multi-layered authentication to safeguard operations. They also introduced the concept of Digital Arrest, emphasizing real-time monitoring and containment of threats before escalation. Key steps for responding to cyber-attacks were outlined, such as isolating breaches, assessing damage, notifying stakeholders, recovering systems, and strengthening security post-incident. The session highlighted the importance of proactive strategies and robust frameworks to build resilience against cyber risks in the digital age.
Peeyush Bhardwaj, then presented an overview of cutting-edge digital banking products designed to enhance efficiency and security in banking operations by Punjab National Bank.
Lal Mohan Satpathy from Punjab National Bank provided an overview of the MSME products and services offered by PNB.
Smt. Abhilasha Bolia, Circle Head of Punjab National Bank, highlighted the wide range of banking services offered by PNB, showcasing the bank’s commitment to meeting diverse customer needs with innovative and comprehensive solutions.
