Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Jan 26, Department of Posts Celebrated 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm, Postmaster General of North Gujarat Region, Krishna Kumar Yadav unfurled the National Flag at Navrangpura Head Post Office in Ahmedabad.
On this occasion, a ‘Dak Chaupal’ mahotsav was organized to raise awareness about various Government welfare schemes. The National Flag was unfurled at all 2,262 post offices across North Gujarat Region, accompanied by ‘Dak Chaupal’. On this occasion, a booklet providing information about all the Postal services under the slogan ‘Dak Sewa – Jan Sewa’ was also released.
In his address, Postmaster General Shri Yadav said that Department of Posts is closely connected with the public, ensuring its reach to the last person in society and connecting people to welfare schemes. In this context, its role in the Republic becomes even more significant. Along with the rights given in the Constitution, the conscientious fulfilment of duties is also essential. In this sequence, ‘Dak Chaupal’ has been organized at every post office to bring essential government and citizen-centric services to the last mile of the society. These events spread awareness about various citizen-centric services, including financial services, Insurance, payments bank services, DBT, e-commerce, and export services under the ‘Government Services at Doorstep’ initiative, benefiting the public. All welfare schemes of the Government of India are being operated through post offices. By ensuring these services reach all individuals in society, we can uphold their rights and fulfill our responsibilities. This would be the true meaning of Republic Day. While distributing passbooks to the beneficiaries of the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and Mahila Samman Savings Certificate, he urged for an empowered woman and a prosperous society.
Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that on this day, we embraced the democratic system under the Constitution and pledged to work for the welfare and overall development of every citizen of the country. In this context, as responsible citizens and integral parts of the government system, it is our duty to ensure that all government welfare schemes reach the common people, and for this, we must work more effectively and with greater commitment. On Republic Day, we should celebrate the achievements of democracy and take a pledge to dedicate ourselves to building a peaceful, harmonious, and progressive India. There is a need to embrace the words and the underlying meaning in the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, starting with “We, the people of India.” This is the essence of our democracy and republic.
Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Ahmedabad City Division, Vikas Palwe, extended his heartfelt greetings to everyone on Republic Day. In his address, he emphasized the significant role of postal services in independent India and underlined their extremely important contribution to the country’s development and connectivity. He said that the benefit of ‘Dak Chaupal’ would be available to the public and all beneficiaries at all post offices in Ahmedabad.

Solanki, Chief Manager of IPPB, Kapil Mantri, Assistant Superintendent Jinesh Patel, Ravindra Parmar, Ramesh Patel, Ronak Shah, Hardik Rathod, Hitesh Parikh, Vishal Chauhan, Inspector Bhavin Prajapati, Yogendra Rathod, Members of Post Forum Kantaben Chavda, Rekhaben Adhvariyu along with other officers, staff, and their families, participated and celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm.
