~GCCI organized a session on SBI BRE Scheme, highlighting collateral-free MSME lending, faster credit assessment, digital lending and SBI’s SME loan solutions.

Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Sep 22 (VNI): The GCCI Banking & Finance Committee, with the support of the GCCI MSME Committee, organized a session on the SBI BRE (Business Rule Engine) Scheme, focusing on collateral-free lending within a reasonable turnaround time, in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
Welcoming the participants, GCCI President Rajesh Gandhi highlighted “Generous Credit Line” as one of the important requirements for businesses. Speaking about the SBI BRE Scheme, he emphasized its key features of “Collateral Free” financing and “Reasonable Turn Around Time”. He welcomed Vijay Kumar, General Manager (Network 1), State Bank of India, LHO, Gandhinagar, and Deepak Singh Chandel, DGM SME, State Bank of India, LHO, Gandhinagar, and appreciated SBI’s role in providing finance to trade and industry. GCCI Banking & Finance Committee Chairman CA Surendra Shah introduced the guests.
Delivering the theme address, SBI General Manager Vijay Kumar spoke about SBI’s extensive nationwide presence, with more than 48 crore customers, over 2 million SME loan accounts and 22,405 branches across India. He highlighted SBI’s digitally enabled specialized services for SMEs and said the bank offers solutions for various banking requirements. He also emphasized features such as “Contact Less Lending” and the growing adoption of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, while describing SBI BRE as a digital platform aimed at making MSME credit faster, smarter and simpler.
SBI DGM SME Deepak Singh Chandel explained that SBI BRE is a technology-driven digital platform and credit risk model for processing SME loans. He said the platform uses data, analytics and predefined business rules to automate and accelerate credit assessment, making the lending process faster, more objective and efficient. He informed that in Gujarat, 847 proposals aggregating Rs. 1,548 crore in the Rs. 50 lakh to Rs. 5 crore range had been approved, while 1,882 proposals aggregating Rs. 513 crore in the Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 50 lakh range had been approved. He also provided detailed information about various products available under the BRE framework.
The interactive session provided GCCI members an opportunity to raise questions and seek clarifications on various aspects of the SBI BRE Scheme and its lending process. The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by GCCI MSME Committee Chairman Sachin Patel.
