Ahmedabad, Gujarat, October 12 (VNI): The Plastics Machinery Manufacturers Association of India (PMMAI) and Messe Düsseldorf India officially launched PLASTFOCUS 2027 in Ahmedabad on Monday, marking a new chapter for India’s plastics machinery and technology industry. Under a long-term strategic partnership, the two organisations will jointly own and co-organise the exhibition from 2027 onwards, with PLASTFOCUS also joining Messe Düsseldorf’s global K Alliance for the plastics and rubber industry. The partnership aims to strengthen international business connections, expand market access and showcase advanced technologies to Indian and overseas companies.
The third edition of PLASTFOCUS will be held from June 23 to 26, 2027, at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Bengaluru. The shift from Noida/Delhi to Bengaluru is expected to strengthen the exhibition’s links with India’s manufacturing, technology and innovation ecosystem. Messe Düsseldorf GmbH Chief Operating Officer Marius Berlemann said India was becoming increasingly important to the global plastics and rubber industry, adding that the partnership would provide exhibitors with greater access to international customers and technology partners while enabling visitors to explore global innovations and industry trends.
Messe Düsseldorf India General Manager Ajay Gulati said PLASTFOCUS 2027 would focus on meaningful business interactions, technology demonstrations, knowledge exchange and partnerships. The exhibition will cover the plastics value chain, including machinery, processing and converting technologies, raw materials, automation, recycling, ancillary equipment and finished solutions. PMMAI President and Neoplast Engineering Private Limited Managing Director Tushar Parikh said the partnership would strengthen the platform for Indian machinery manufacturers to demonstrate their capabilities, build customer confidence and expand into new markets, while supporting improvements in productivity and resource efficiency.
PMMAI Treasurer and Rajoo Engineers Limited Director Sunil Jain said the collaboration represented an important step towards bringing international buyers and technology stakeholders to India. He expressed the ambition of making PLASTFOCUS a gateway for Indian plastics machinery manufacturers to access global markets, develop international relationships and gain wider recognition. The organisers expect the Bengaluru edition to bring together stakeholders from India and abroad to explore business opportunities and evaluate technologies that can improve competitiveness, quality and sustainability across the sector.
The launch comes amid significant growth prospects for India’s plastics industry. Market estimates place the industry’s value at more than USD 44 billion in 2025, with projections indicating that it could exceed USD 63 billion by 2031. With domestic plastics consumption estimated at around 22 million tonnes, the sector offers substantial long-term potential. Sustainability, recycling, energy efficiency, material innovation, automation and digitalisation are increasingly shaping the industry’s future, and PLASTFOCUS 2027 aims to provide a platform for stakeholders to exchange knowledge, discover solutions and build partnerships supporting the sector’s continued development.
