~Marengo CIMS Hospitals Launches Gujarat’s First 24×7 AI-Powered Remote Patient Monitoring System

Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Aug 07 (VNI): Marengo CIMS Hospitals has become Gujarat’s first hospital to introduce a 24×7 AI-powered remote patient monitoring ecosystem for high-risk patients, enabling continuous monitoring not only inside the hospital but also after discharge at home and even while patients are travelling. The advanced technology aims to detect life-threatening health deterioration before it develops into a medical emergency.
The intelligent monitoring platform uses AI-enabled wearable biosensor technology to continuously track vital health parameters such as heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation and other critical physiological indicators in real time. If the system detects abnormal readings or an increased clinical risk, it immediately sends alerts to the patient’s smartphone, the treating doctor and the hospital’s dedicated 24×7 Central Monitoring Command Centre, enabling rapid medical intervention.
The AI platform creates a connected care ecosystem that follows patients throughout their healthcare journey—from ambulance and emergency care to the ICU, hospital wards and home recovery. By continuously analysing patient data and identifying subtle physiological changes, the system generates early warning scores, explainable risk insights and real-time clinical summaries, helping doctors make faster and better-informed treatment decisions.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Dhiren Shah, Director, CVTS & Heart Transplant Programme, Marengo CIMS Hospital, said the hospital has been using the AI-enabled biosensor technology for over two-and-a-half years for patients at high risk of cardiac and other life-threatening conditions. During this period, more than 6,551 patients have been monitored, resulting in the prevention of 836 patient deterioration events, 115 Code Blue emergencies, 81 ICU transfers, and facilitating three life-saving CPR interventions, highlighting the effectiveness of AI-assisted continuous monitoring.
The technology is particularly beneficial for patients suffering from heart failure, reduced heart function, high-risk cardiovascular disease, stroke risk, asthma and other chronic critical illnesses. Unlike conventional monitoring, which is limited to hospital stays, the AI platform enables doctors to remotely monitor patients after discharge, ensuring continuity of care while allowing patients to recover safely at home.
Marengo CIMS Hospitals has also established a dedicated 24×7 AI Monitoring Command Centre, where trained clinical teams continuously review patient data, verify alerts and coordinate with treating doctors whenever intervention is required. This proactive approach helps clinicians identify deterioration before symptoms become clinically evident, reducing emergency admissions and improving patient safety.
Mayur Dave, Facility Director, Marengo CIMS Hospital, said that most serious cardiac emergencies are preceded by subtle physiological warning signs that may appear hours or even days in advance. According to him, the AI-powered monitoring ecosystem enables doctors to detect these early signals and intervene before a patient’s condition becomes critical. He added that the technology represents predictive, preventive and personalised healthcare powered by artificial intelligence.
Dr. Raajiv Singhal, Founding Member, Managing Director & CEO, Marengo Asia Healthcare, said the AI-powered platform also supports structured hospital workflows through continuous clinical monitoring, intelligent risk stratification, AI-assisted documentation and coordinated escalation protocols. This helps healthcare teams receive the right information at the right time, enabling earlier intervention, reducing avoidable complications, lowering treatment costs, shortening ICU and hospital stays and improving recovery outcomes.
The AI ecosystem is powered by Lifesigns, a patient monitoring and clinical intelligence company whose technology combines continuous remote monitoring, predictive risk stratification, explainable clinical insights and automated documentation across the patient’s entire healthcare journey. By analysing live vital signs alongside laboratory reports, clinical notes and patient history, the platform provides clinicians with a comprehensive view to support timely medical decisions.
With the adoption of this advanced AI-powered ecosystem, Marengo CIMS Hospitals has set a new benchmark in digital healthcare by becoming Gujarat’s first hospital to offer 24×7 AI-driven continuous patient monitoring, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, clinical excellence and world-class patient care.
