Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Sep 01 (VNI): ISKCON Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj, organised a series of “Swagatam Krishna 2026” spiritual-cultural programmes at Chandlodiya, Adani Shantigram, Nikol, Kalol, Sanand and Maninagar, bringing the joy of Sri Krishna Janmashtami and the timeless message of Lord Sri Krishna closer to communities across Gujarat.
“Swagatam Krishna 2026” is a special initiative of ISKCON Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj, aimed at taking Janmashtami celebrations beyond the temple premises and connecting families, children and youth with Krishna consciousness. The programmes featured devotional music, kirtan, cultural presentations and spiritual messages. Jaganmohan Krishna Dasa, President of Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj, said the initiative seeks to help people experience the spiritual joy of Janmashtami and connect with the timeless teachings of Lord Sri Krishna.
At Chandlodiya and Adani Shantigram, residents and families participated in devotional singing, kirtan and cultural activities. The Nikol programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from families and youth, with the celebrations highlighting India’s spiritual heritage and the relevance of Sri Krishna’s teachings. At Kalol, the programme reflected the central vision of “Swagatam Krishna” by taking the message of Krishna directly to local communities.
The celebrations at Sanand brought people together in a spirit of devotion and fellowship, while the Maninagar programme featured devotional music, kirtan and cultural presentations. The organisers said the initiative aims to present Janmashtami not only as a festival of joy, but also as an opportunity to understand and reconnect with India’s spiritual and cultural traditions.
The inspiration behind “Swagatam Krishna 2026” comes from His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of ISKCON, who dedicated his life to spreading the message of Sri Krishna, the teachings of the Bhagavad-gita and the chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra worldwide. The community programmes are part of a larger series being organised across Gujarat during the Janmashtami season and will culminate with the Sri Krishna Janmashtami Mahotsav at Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj, featuring special darshan, kirtan, devotional music, cultural programmes and other festivities.
