~GCCI and PFRDA organised the NPS Connect seminar in Ahmedabad to educate MSMEs on retirement planning, Corporate NPS, tax benefits and long-term financial security.
Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Oct 10 (VNI): The Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI), in collaboration with the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), recently organised an informative seminar titled “NPS Connect – Empowering MSMEs for a Secure Future” at the Astral Executive Room, GCCI, Ahmedabad. The programme brought together more than 70 participants, including representatives of industrial associations, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), entrepreneurs, Points of Presence (PoPs) and other stakeholders, to promote awareness of retirement planning and sustainable financial growth.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Sachin Patel, Chairman of the MSME Committee, GCCI, who welcomed the speakers and participants and emphasised the importance of financial planning at the MSME, corporate and individual levels. This was followed by the theme address by Dr. Runal Patel, Co-Chair of the MSME Committee, GCCI, who highlighted the need to strengthen financial security and retirement planning across the MSME ecosystem.
During the technical session, Sandip Ghunawat of PFRDA provided insights into the National Pension System (NPS), its relevance for MSMEs and the importance of creating greater awareness about structured retirement planning. The session was followed by presentations from Vipul Vadhaiya, Manager, SBI Pension Funds, and Akshay Sanghvi of HDFC PFM, who discussed the practical aspects and benefits of NPS for the corporate and MSME sectors.
Vipul Vadhaiya elaborated on the implementation of Corporate NPS for MSMEs, highlighting customised investment plans, retirement benefits, digital onboarding, ease of administration and tax benefits for employers. Akshay Sanghvi emphasised the importance of building a strong retirement corpus through disciplined, long-term financial planning. He also highlighted the role of pension solutions in promoting financial independence and encouraged MSMEs, entrepreneurs and individuals to begin planning early for a financially secure retirement.
The seminar provided participants with insights into NPS registration, portability, flexible contributions, professional fund management and tax benefits. It also highlighted the potential of NPS to strengthen employee welfare, promote financial inclusion, improve employee retention and support the sustainable growth of MSMEs.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which participants sought clarifications and gained practical insights from the experts.
