Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Nov 05 (VNI) : The Ahmedabad Medical Association (AMA) and the Ahmedabad Family Physicians Association (AFPA) have jointly launched their annual ‘Doctor on Call’ social service initiative to provide accessible healthcare support to citizens during the Diwali festival holidays.
Continuing a cherished tradition spanning more than a decade, the initiative will remain operational from November 7 to November 13, 2026, ensuring medical advice and emergency guidance for residents of Ahmedabad while regular clinics operate on holiday schedules.
Dr. Kalpita Dave, President of the Ahmedabad Medical Association, announced the service dates and said the initiative aims to ensure continuous healthcare support during the festive period.
Dr. Maulik Sheth, Secretary of AMA, said the service will provide free primary medical advice, with dedicated coordinators available to receive calls, offer immediate medical counsel and provide basic healthcare guidance at no cost.
In cases requiring advanced treatment or emergency care, the primary coordinators will facilitate referrals to appropriate medical specialists, helping citizens access timely medical assistance.
