~Ghana High Commissioner to India Prof. Kwasi Obiri-Danso visited GCCI in Ahmedabad to strengthen India-Ghana trade, investment and business collaboration through the “Aatmanirbhar Ghana × Aatmanirbhar Bharat” dialogue.

Ahmedabad, Gujarat, July 17 (VNI): The Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) hosted an interactive session with the High Commissioner of Ghana to India, Prof. Kwasi Obiri-Danso, and a high-level Ghanaian delegation, aimed at strengthening bilateral trade, investment and business collaboration between India and Ghana.

The session began with Anil Jain, Chairman, International Trade Committee, GCCI, outlining the objectives of the roundtable dialogue themed “Aatmanirbhar Ghana × Aatmanirbhar Bharat”, emphasizing enhanced business partnerships and economic cooperation between the two countries. GCCI Senior Vice President Rajesh Gandhi welcomed the delegation and highlighted GCCI’s mission of “Grow Business – Transform Gujarat.” He noted that India-Ghana bilateral trade exceeds USD 3 billion annually, praised the long-standing trade and cultural ties, and pointed to significant opportunities for startups and investors in Ghana.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Kwasi Obiri-Danso, a renowned biological scientist and former Vice Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST), said both nations have immense potential to achieve the visions of “Atmanirbhar Ghana” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” through stronger B2B engagement. He highlighted investment opportunities in sectors including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, textiles, renewable energy and gold mining, while appreciating the Gujarati community’s contribution to Ghana’s economic and social development.
Kwasi Agyemang Gyan-Tutu, Minister – Investment & Tourism, showcased Ghana’s investment potential in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, gold and cashew processing. The event witnessed an engaging interaction between business leaders from Gujarat and Ghana, focusing on expanding trade and investment partnerships. GCCI Additional Secretary General Rahul Sheth, Executive Committee members and industry representatives were also present. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Navroz Tarapore, Co-Chairman of the GCCI International Trade Committee.
